I’m Courtney Daniel. I create opportunities for expressing gratitude for clients who want to deepen relationships with their partners, colleagues and clients. I do this through custom stationery design, gift curation and VIP relationship management.
But first, a little about me and how I got started in the business of gratitude.
A lifelong practice of handwritten notes.
Handwritten letters and cards have always been an important element in keeping in touch with people I love. My connected to handwritten mail began when I was just 12 years old, when my family moved away from my small hometown to the “big city” of Atlanta, Georgia.
As a shy girl, the big city was a lot to get used to — the fast pace and bigness of it made me feel alone. To keep in touch with my friends back home, I began a lifelong practice of mailing handwritten notes, letters and personalized cards.
Communicating feelings in a personal way.
Getting a piece of mail with my name on it became the highlight of my week. The handwritten element was important since I was so far from my friends — it was like sending them a tangible piece of evidence that I existed, one that no one else could replicate.
Writing these letters was also a creative outlet that my naturally-introverted self immediately took to. Receiving a reply made me feel special, thought of and loved. These handwritten notes are what nurtured and grew my relationships and friendships over the years — and this same personal touch translated into my work as a personal assistant to celebrities, writing thank-you notes and treating everyone as a VIP.
A reminder that someone is thinking of you.
Ever since my days as a pen pal with my girlhood friends, I’ve never lost sight of the anticipation and excitement that comes with receiving a piece of mail with your name on it, handwritten by someone who took the time to sit down and write you a note. With a world that’s increasingly “gone digital,” handwritten notes are even more special. It’s become even more rare to find this extra persona touch in the fast-paced business world.
Do you remember the last time a business contact, client or service provider sent you a handwritten note? You might have to think hard to remember that one. What about the last time you received a handwritten letter or card from a friend or loved one? How did you feel when you first saw it?
That is the feeling that I am in the business of creating.
Everyone deserves VIP treatment.
Before I launched my own business as a professional relationship manager, I spent years working as a personal assistant to high-profile clients with packed schedules. In addition to integrity, attention to detail and creative problem-solving, one of the skills that served me best as a PA to VIPs was my prioritization of quality personal communication.
Sending out birthday cards, gifts, invitations and other correspondence to friends, family members and other acquaintances of my clients was one of my favorite parts of my job — and treating everyone as a VIP was always .
When I was ready to launch my own business, I knew I wanted to create more opportunities to express personal gratitude and deepen relationships.
Creative and personal cards that express gratitude.
My passion for communicating feelings and finding creative solutions was the start of my career as a customer relationship manager, developing custom stationery solutions for individuals, small businesses and corporations. My passion for expressing gratitude and treating everyone like a star merged with my creative side, and my dream job was born.
